2025 eXXXotica Chicago Preview Coverage

This year’s very first eXXXotica celebrating their 20th anniversary, kicked off in the windy city Chicago (except it wasn’t really windy the 1st day) hosted at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, aka DES. I took a redeye from Vegas to Chicago and arrived nice and early at Midway. Traffic was horrible in the morning and took an hour to get to venue. Luckily the hotel is nearby and is within walking distance.
Ray from ImagesbyRay already flew in the night before so he’s ready to rock. As we were walking towards the venue, we’re glad they have traffic controllers for the crosswalk. While there’s a skybridge, you have to loop via the parking garage and around which wasn’t directly connected to the hotel we’re at.
Wow, has it been 20 years of exxxotica? I don’t recall attending the earlier shows as I was based mainly in the West Coast and most of the events (back then were East Coast) I do recall attending the one they had in Los Angeles (2010?)
Wait!? What!?!?? What is Pikachu doing at eXXXotica??? As it turns out, DES convention was also hosting (2) other shows the same weekend. Collect-A-Con and National Franchise Show. As expected, there were some confusions among attendees trying to get to the other shows (located on the 1st floor) and find eXXXotica upstairs.
Oh yes! We’re definitely here for eXXXotica, going up!
We were super excited to attend the event till they forced everyone to go thru security. Normally eXXXotica will allow exhibitors and media to bypass the line. Well, this year for some reason it’s bi-polar and it’s really depending on the mood of the day. We were forced to go thru the line on the 1st day, 2nd day they said it was OK, but the last and final day they made us go thru it again. Very inconsistent.
The place was a MAD HOUSE!! Above and below, stage was crowded too!
